An Armsworth Wedding: 18/05/2019

On the 18th of May, Temora became a stunning bride with an English Rose look.

Like many brides, Temora had a concern about the amount of makeup she would have on and an uncertainty of what to expect. Part of what I do is listen to what they want. And for Temora, it was a produce a natural look highlighting her already glowing features.

Temora’s experience

What was your experience at our first meeting – the trial?

Our first meeting was brilliant. As soon as you opened the door I knew immediately I would be in safe hands. Birute was smiley and willing to listen to my suggestions. I showed the makeup which I used on a day to day basis, and we worked around creating a fresh and natural look. It was an enjoyable experience and surprisingly, very relaxing. I felt confident leaving knowing there was one less wedding preparation I needed to worry about.

What look did you go for and who had their makeup done?

I went for a natural English Rose look, which was fresh and light. I decided because my trial went so well that my mother and my maids of honour should also have their make up done on the day.

How did you feel once your look was complete?

Once the make up trial was complete, I felt that the products used were light and complimented my skin tone. I have sensitive skin and the products used didn’t make my eyes water, which was a real bonus. When I got home to show my family, they all complimented me on how natural and ‘very me’ the look was.

Did you enjoy the process? What tips would you give to brides-to-be? Would you recommend me to others and why?

I thoroughly enjoyed the process. I have already recommended Birute to a friend of mine who is getting married in June. Birute was so calm and collected on the day of the wedding and it was a real pleasure having her as part of our day. My make up lasted all day and all night, and I really couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Thank you for being so fantastic. I am lost for words.

Temora was such a pleasure to work with.

I always listen to my brides and try to deliver what they want from me. Temora wanted very natural bridal makeup, so we created a glowing look to enhance her features. Temora’s style is very classic, and she wore a heavy duchess satin in an ivory colour dress. She was also wearing a family tiara, earrings and a stunning necklace. This meant the makeup needed to be simple and classic to not compete with the jewellery.

I advised that for a special day like a wedding we should go with a tiny bit more makeup that usual. This is so important for photos. Temora liked Princess Eugene’s wedding makeup, so we tried to recreate that look, in line with what was suitable for her. As Temora wasn’t used to wearing a lot of makeup on an everyday basis, so we went with a simple thin layer of foundation, blusher, bronzer, a hint of mascara, light lipstick and a swipe of brow gel through her eyebrows (see what we used below).

I only applied thin layers of foundation to leave the skin looking fresh, followed with a little bit of bronzer and blusher to create that beautiful English Rose romantic look. Temora also likes filed in brows, so we made sure that the brows looked immaculate. I also put some eyeliner on her top lash line as this helps to create a beautiful shape.
